Do you all remember when Boko Haram kidnapped all those girls from a school? Yes, along with all the #bringbackourgirls from celebrities to the First Lady. Well what they don’t mention is that from 2013-2016 about 10,000 boys were kidnapped and turned into child soldiers.
Men account for 49% of the US population and about 93.2% of the prison population. Of the ~1,000 people killed by police, 961 were men.
~70% of the homeless population are men.
Domestic abuse against men doesn’t get nearly the same recognition and the victims barely get help. In 2017 there were only two men’s only shelters in the entire US while there are hundreds if not thousands for women.
Breast cancer received $60 million more than prostate cancer and ovarian cancer $64 million more than testicular cancer.
In 2018, men died by suicide 3.56x more often than women.
Men are 10x more likely to be killed at work than women.
Only men have to sign up for the draft.
If any one these statistics were replaced with any other demographic there would be outrage, let alone if they all were.
Edit: To all those saying “what about the women and their oppression” not only does this have nothing to do with what I said but you’re also helping prove my point.
Also, several people have brought an issue to my attention. No, I am not saying men should be expendable, I am saying that they are. I am trying to bring this issue some attention.
