For those not in the know: animemes went private after a few weeks of users voicing their complaints about the "T word" ban, referring to traps. Some of the moderators of animemes doubled down on their position, which eventually culminated in the (temporary) closing of the sub. (Edit: the subreddit was privated due to some users doxxing the moderators.) It's a bit more nuanced than that, but that is the general gist of it. Today, /r/animemes reopened. All posts are locked. This post, with about 12k upvotes, currently has 8 comments, 3 of which are visible.
